Advice.
Avoid sitting cross legged.
Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hello lybrate user, - better to go with ayurveda treatment for her
- application of mahanarayana taila with eucalyptus oil daily twice and giving hot fomentation for 15 min will relieve the pain and also strengthen her joints - also donno whether she can walk. Or not, better to do some moving exercises for her joints daily for 15 min

Dear lybrate-user, here I got something to treat knee arthrities at home, try this, if it will not work, then you must take your dad to orthopaedic surgeon. Try this at home 1st.
Turmeric & ginger tea.
Epsom salt soak.
Get more magnesium (seriously.).
Lubricate with extra virgin olive oil.
Dandelion leaves.
Blackstrap molasses drink.
White willow tea (the original aspirin).
Exercise.

Do morning walk daily.
Do not expose yourself to too hot or cold temperature.

Hamstring Stretch
Lie on your back with your left leg flat on the floor. Loop a towel or rope around your right foot and pull your leg as far as comfortable toward your chest, while keeping a slight bend at the knee. Keep your back pressed to the floor throughout the stretch. Hold for 10 to 30 seconds and then release. Repeat 3 or 4 times with each leg. Do this stretch 5 or 6 times a week.
