We have been complaining about a medical condition of dry throat every now and then and this condition of dry throat could begin as a result of so many medical conditions which might include allergic rhinitis (this is the inflammation or the swelling of the lining of the nose which happens because of any allergy), strep throat (an infection which is caused by a bateria), sore throat (an infection which is caused by a bacteria or a virus), tonsillitis (this is a condition in which the tonsils become inflamed) or common cold and flu (influenza).

Our body is not known for providing sufficient amounts of saliva that can wet our throats while we are going through this condition of dehydration which eventually results in this condition of dry throat.

The management of this condition of sore throat is possible very easily by following so many home remedies and some ingredients that are very easily available in a common household, therefore, given below are some of the most easily available and most effective home remedy ingredients mentioned: 

  • Gargling with salt water: Salt water helps a lot in the management of dry throat because of its ability of killing the bacteria and it helps in the production of mucus and relieves you of the discomfort. You can mix salt with warm water and use the solution for gargling.
  • Herbal tea: There are a lot of teas that you can drink to get relieved from the problem of dry throat and some of the most effective teas are given below: 
  • Clove tea: This tea made with close has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects which will help you to fight the infections off and it is also helpful for providing relief to your throat.

  • Chamomile tea: Chamomile is known to act as a natural lubricant that is found to be very beneficial when you are facing trouble in speaking and you are starting to have a hoarse voice. This tea is also a brilliant choice for those people who want to get relief from the pain caused by it and also to reduce the inflammation as well.
  • Peppermint tea: Tea which is made with this is found to be very beneficial in providing relief from the pain and reducing the inflammation experienced in the throat.
  • Air humidifier: You can get this problem of dry throat when you are in the exposure of dry air during the winter season then in that case you need to buy an air humidifier which will help you to keep the air around you moist and has some other additional benefits associated with this.
  • Warm and cold fluids: When you are experiencing this problem of dry throat you can sip on warm fluids which includes tea and soups or you can also take cold liquids which may involve ice water and popsicles as these are known to provide a soothing effect to the throat. You can try both of the options for yourselves and then you can decide what is for your throat and what is working for you the best. For clearing your nasal passage you need to drink liquid and it also helps in keeping the things flowing inside and also helps in the prevention of sinus infections.
  • Rest: You should be putting your head on a pillow and should try to go to bed as early as possible and giving your body complete physical rest is very important and it also affects your voice as well which is found to be very helpful and beneficial for the throat. On the other hand, lying down flat could result in swelling up of your throat because of an increased amount of pressure on the back of your throat. For relieving the pain and discomfort that you are experiencing you should try to elevate yourself from the bed or try sitting in a suspended position or instead of that you can try it in a chair.
