What is the remedy about?

A fungus called Malassezia is present on the scalp of most people. When this fungus is aggravated, it causes white scaly flakes to form on your scalp. An excess of oily substances secreted by the sebaceous glands on your scalp can aggravate this fungus. Dandruff causes a buildup of dead skin cells and itchiness, due to dryness of the scalp.

However, there are quite a few ways to deal with dandruff and keep it in check. A few effective home remedies that help fight dandruff are

  • Baking soda and lime: Baking soda reduces the effects of the aggravated fungi on your scalp and thus helps you get rid of dandruff. For this home remedy, make a paste with three spoons of baking soda, three spoons of lime juice and add apple cider vinegar. Spread this paste evenly over your scalp and leave it on, for around ten minutes. Then wash your hair thoroughly with water, using apple cider vinegar as a conditioner. You can do this just before shampooing your hair.

Leave it on for around ten to fifteen minutes and then wash your hair again, with a little bit of shampoo.
  • Apple cider vinegar: An effective home remedy for dandruff is to mix apple cider vinegar and water in a bowl. • Eat a healthy diet, since eating oily and fatty food can aggravate the condition of dandruff.
  • It is important to wash your hair regularly since this is the best way to counter the effects of dandruff.
  • Make sure that you use gentle hair products since harsh products can actually worsen the condition of dandruff.

Moreover, there is no dearth of enterprising people out to fleece such patients who are already hassled.

Just massage 2 tablespoons lemon juice into your scalp and rinse with water. Then stir 1 teaspoon lemon juice into 1 cup water and rinse your hair with it. Repeat this daily until your dandruff disappears. Lemon's acidity helps balance the pH of your scalp, which helps keeps dandruff away.please ensure to mix it with a carrier oil like jojoba, coconut or olive oil to stay on the safe side.To treat dandruff, mix 5 to 7 drops of tea tree essential oil in ¼ cup of coconut oil and apply it on your scalp at night. In the morning, rinse it off thoroughly with tepid water
