Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Madam, when one is on adequate dosage of levothyroxine then tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l, t3 & t4 are in normal range. That is considered as controlled hypothyroidism. Another aspect is please do not keep changing the dosage rapidly. It take about 6 weeks to see appropriate change in tsh levels. To calculate accurate dosage we need to look at weight, height, t4 & tsh levels plus symptoms if any. So if you have any questions ...more

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Dry skin (xerosis cutis) can cause the skin on your face to peel, as can other health conditions, like eczema and psoriasis. Cold air, hot showers, and fluctuating humidity can cause peeling skin, especially in the winter. Skin that peels over a large portion of your body is called exfoliative dermatitis.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, few important things are not given like: 1)current tsh, t3 & t4 levels. 2) lh, fsh & testosterone levels (if not checked, please get them done). 3) lipid profile & 4) an ultrasound examination of ovaries. These will help in identifying if there is pcod or not.
In hypothyroidism some times prolactin levels do go up. But if the levels are too high, then need to be treated with a specific drug for that.\further in pcod...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, those are very non specific. There is a need to know actual tsh & t3 & t4 levels, without which no comments can be made. So please come back with specific details. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Madam, I am surprised to see such a high TSH level in pregnancy. I am sure concerned doctor must have talked about what level of TSH has to be maintained during the 9 months of pregnancy. Madam the levels during pregnancy should be :
1st trimester 0.2 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester 0.3 to 3 mU/L & 3rd trimester 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L
Higher levels are not good for the development of fetus and for optimal result of the pregnancy. In fact right from beginning conce...more

Hello, I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (with the tender points test) but have not had a proper detailed understanding of it from the 2 doctors I consulted. I have been asked to take pregabalin sustained release 75 mg and methylcobalamin 1500 mcg for a month and then do myofascial release therapy. I am not keen to take the medications as I prefer to try the physiotherapy first and understand this better and then if nothing else helps and pain becomes very difficult, only then move into medications. To understand it better I joined an online support group and in the process came across other symptoms I seem to have experienced at different times over the last year, but not sure. These include: - out of nowhere migraines headaches (usually mine are triggered by strong smells, skipping breakfast or too much loud noise) - a slightly mild body temperature once in a while - sudden full body pain (like flu body pain) but no fever and no other discomfort for 2 days and it went away. - sitting down, kneeling, or sitting cross legged brings pain to the areas behind my knees. I am 41 years old woman and sometimes I feel like with all these dull aches and pains I am maybe 70-80. But do not want to talk about it cause its embarrassing that someone young as me has all these pains and aches and discomforts. I walk daily about 5-7 km as part of my daily exercise and I try to stay low carb or on keto as it helps manage the migraines and energy levels. I need to find a doctor who has a really deep understanding of fibromyalgia and help me understand it. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Symptoms resemble those of arthritis, but fibromyalgia affects the soft tissue, not the joints. The cause is unknown, but risk factors include traumatic injury, rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders, such as lupus, and genetic factors.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
