The window period is the point from first infection until the test can reliably detect antibodies in the blood. For the ELISA test this window period is 4 weeks to 3 months. A 4th generation test like the one you took, also known as a DUO or Combo test, looks for both antibodies and P24 protein antigens.

No worries without any cuts or wounds kisses or touching has not been proved to transmit to HIV! If you had oral sex then chances are that you can have HIV transmission provided the masseur is HIV infected.

Test after 10 days is useless, do not waste money.
You should do HIV test after 3 months as also tests for likely STDs.
You will need personal consultation and some tests.

Hello-
The oxygen in the air immediately breaks down HIV upon contact. HIV is an extremely weak virus that cannot survive outside of the human body. There is no cure for HIV AIDS yet .only the complications can be prevented and HIV virus replication tried to be kept in control.
Initially for almost 10 years there could be vague symptoms like fever, body pains, or no symptoms at all.
Once diagnosed to be HIV positive one has to take antiretroviral therapy for life and constantly monitored.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. A french team of HIV researchers found that people with HIV who started treatment with a CD4 cell count above 500 were 56 times more likely to experience a normalisation of immune function and a reduction in HIV DNA to low levels when compared to people who started treatment at lower CD4 counts. You are safe. Take care.

If she is not infected and is your wife you will not get HIV . The actual risk of transmission of HIV through breast milk is unknown. It is thought to be more likely if a mother is newly infected with primary infection and may therefore be more infectious. Women who are less viraemic are thought to be less likely to transmit HIV through breast milk. However, the risk of infection from a single bottle of breast milk, even if the mother is HIV positive, is extremely small.
