If you are more than 35 yrs of age, you must screen urself for diabetes annually. Fasting blood sugar is only you need to do. If fasting blood sugar is between 100 to 125 mg/dl you are pre-diabetic and if fasting blood sugar is more than 126 mg/dl, you are diagnosed with diabetes. So get your fasting blood sugar done and consult a doctor if its more than the normal range.

It's good for now. Try to switch to herbals as high bp and sugar med is likely to continue for life. There are long use side effects too. Generally further deterioration like neuropathy, retinopathy, fatigue, other things stop with scientific Ayurved medicine. Initially you can't abrupt your current medicine at once. If further advise is needed, pl send full history, lab reports and current treatment.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Tablet Glynase MF contains Glibeclamide an earlier sulfonylurea and Glycomet GP contains Glimiperide. Both are different. Can not be just replaced one for another. You have to talk to your doctor about the dosage when change is being made. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user
Those levels are quite high to be controlled just with change of diet. You need to start medicines to prevent/delay complications caused by diabetes.

There is urgent need for starting immediate treatment with appropriate drugs, plus diet control and regular exercise. Another important aspect is that with a BMI of 36.6 kgs /Sq meter (Normal < 23 kgs/CSq meter) you are in the grade 2 obesity. There is an excess of 31 kgs. That...more
