Most likely you have developed funiculities which is inflammation of the cord of the testis - it generally takes few days to subside: if your sonography is normal and clinical examination is normal’ there is very less likelihood of any severe disease: however get a sonography of testis done and if you find any abnormality in the report consult a doctor.

Hello sir, kindly understand that there is no other option to treat a hernia (anywhere) without surgery. But as you are an octagerian, it is probably better to leavee the hernia where it is if the mouth of hernia is wide enough to prevent any compromised blood supply to the content of abdomen.
