Hello lybrate-user!
mild dandruff can be treated with a gentle daily shampoo. If symptoms are returning then you need to shampoo daily and use anti dandruff shampoo twice a week. If the shampoo which you are using isn’t effective then switch to other anti dandruff shampoo which contain zinc / selenium sulphide/ salicylic acid. Moisturise your scalp by applying aloe vera, almond oil at night and shampoo next morning.

We would like to examine the condition and review all previous treatments. Kindly visit a dermatologist near you for treatment or write to us to schedule an appointment. Wishing you healt...more

Hi, your scalp needs to be examined to rule out dry scalp conditions which are treated with stronger medicines. Ketoconazole shampoo helps in treatment of dandruff. Avoid oiling your scalp. Use a mild shampoo like triclenz first and anti dandruff shampoo later. Do see your local dermatologist or consult online for further assessment and advice.

Dandruff is caused by malassezia furfur, a normal commensal on the skin, meaning everybody has it all the time. Most people have no symptoms. Better in summers.
The only way to make sure there is no over growth of the fungus and no symptoms is regular use of antifungal shampoos/lotion in a freq...more
