Antigen/antibody test done with blood from a finger stick can usually detect hiv 18 to 90 days after exposure. An antigen/antibody lab test using blood from a vein can usually detect hiv 18 to 45 days after exposure. A nucleic acid test (nat) can usually detect hiv 10 to 33 days after exposure.

Do the combo test which shows index value for test.
It is more accurate than strip test.
If it is positive, takeart.

Art if taken properly can prevent transmission from parent to child.

Unless you are sure of your partners hiv status, there is always risk of 0.1 percentage per exposure that is unprotected.
Best would be to get tested and if you are high risk take post exposure prophylaxis in 72 hours of exposure.

When a pt take pep of four dose it protects 9-10 months. Unable to say what you ask as this is not the dose.
