May there is calcaneal spur or planter fasciatitis.
Go for x ray of ankle.
Counslt to physio.
Use soft sole footwear and avoid bare foot walking.
Keep his feet in mild warm water.

Respected lybrate-user" inflammation of plantar fascia" is called plantar fascitis" plantar--- plantar fascia+ itis --- inflammation" during this problem. Massage / soft tissue manipulation will helpful to this at limited times only / for emergencies. Compulsorily starts physiotherapy treatment for orthopaedic doctor consultation. 1. Looks like she has plantar fascitis (foot loses its normal arch below and becomes flatter).
2. Use 1 course of pain killers with vitamin c.3. Use shoes made for plantar fascitis that maintains the arch of the foot.
4. Tennis ball/arch stretching exercises are available on you tube and can be implemented once the pain reduces after taking medication. 5. If she is post menopausal and not on any calcium supplements / consider using calcium and vitamin d3.
