A distance of 6" or 150 mm is scientifically proved to cause least or no interference with a pace maker device. Phonak my link loop placed over opposite shoulder or at a distance would be advisable. First you go for complet hearing evaluation, after that you ll get to know about the type of hearing loss. If the hearing loss is more of conductive component then surgery n medication is more beneficial. If hearing loss is more of SN component then it'll be better to use hearing aid as soon as possible.

Dear lybrate user,
first of all know whats the exact status, then the management will be much easier and fruitful by default. Go for puretone audiometry test. If you have a mixed kind of hearing loss then even after surgery you have to use hearing aids, if the result shows conductive type loss then no doubt you will be fine after surgery.

Hello, after audiometry test the audiologist will either mark or show pictures of ear to compare your hearing status, and tell you which part of your ear is affected. Nxt part is about your hearing aid, get your audiometry test again and adjust your aid accordingly, if the problem is not resolved then it is either your sensorineural loss or the aid is not suitable for your loss.
