Tunning fork test, Pure tone Audiometry, Impedence audiometry etc will help to come to diagnosis. Deafness can be due to edema, wax or fixation of ear bones of hearing or subluxation of it, may be due to hole in drum or may be due to nerve deafness. You may require surgery.

Dear lybrate user,
first of all know whats the exact status, then the management will be much easier and fruitful by default. Go for puretone audiometry test. If you have a mixed kind of hearing loss then even after surgery you have to use hearing aids, if the result shows conductive type loss then no doubt you will be fine after surgery.
