It has been always doubtful if any of such tonics are really useful. Healthy home diet is enough, unless there is documented deficiency. Not being harmful is not an adequate reason to give tonics. It only satisfies the natural urge of parents to do something extra in addition to home diet. It is born out of usual human behaviour to address the feeling of undefined insecurity.
