HbA1c% 6.1 signifies you are in a pre-diabetes state. However, after food glucose level (128 mg) is normal. So it is clear that there is no diabetes. If you have a family history, then there is a need to adapt a modified lifestyle, by which it means - avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, pastries, bakery items, foods made from maida. Use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Exercis...more

The treatment of diabetes is not that simple. There are many classes of diabetic drugs. It depends on extent of diabetes and complications to decide medicine for the diabetic person.
Dosages are also decided upon depending on your acute and chronic sugar levels, fasting sugar levels, post prandial sugar levels, urine sugar levels, urine microalbumin levels, urea and creatinine levels.
So, a complete diabetic profile needs to be done to reach for the best drugs and proper dosages.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Fasting 100 mg & PP 81 mg look absolutely normal levels. However HbA1c% 6.44, looks closer to being a diabetic. Between 5.7 to 6.4 % is considered as pre-diabetic. Similarly Fasting 101 to 125 mg & PP 141 to 199 mg is considered as pre-diabetic. Which means there is a possibility that the person can progress to be a diabetic if no care is taken. Precautions needed are dietary restrictions, weight control and regular exercise. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
To suggest medication to treat diabetes I need to know following details: fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c% (given), weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise and lipid levels.
Plus in this communication we are only supposed to give general guidelines, no drug prescriptions are allowed. Thanks.
