Previous exposure or vaccination: if a person has been previously vaccinated against typhoid fever or has had a past infection, they may still have detectable igm antibodies in their blood.

As a rare complication of typhoid fever inflammation of testes and epididymus is possible, which may affect production of sperms. Typhoid daignosis by widal blood test or blood culture will confirm typhoid. Semen analysis will be useful to diagnose azoospermia - no sperms. This test is not done regularly unless there is some issue with fertility.
