- Diabetes is the increase in blood sugar of the person
- it could be type 1 wherein there is lack of insulin production by the pancreas & type 2 ( more commonly found) wherein insulin is produced but there is a problem with its utilization by the body cells, in both cases the blood sugar increases.

Yes diabetes must be well controlled before pregnancy. During pregnancy either take metformin or insulin .insulin is always safe. Stirict control of sugar is required whole pregnancy.

Hello lybrate-user, diabetic person has to take more protein in their diet, carbohydrates will turn into glocouse and may fluctuate the diabetic levels. But protein gives instant energy and cannot be stored in a body more than a day. So, person who has diabetics, eat wheat pulkas, egg whites.

Be particular about food choices & timings. Follow the proper do's and don't of diabetes avoid all refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Avoid high starchy foods such as rice, potato & colocasia. Include more fiber, pulses & green leafy vegetables in your diet. Avoid sweetend fruits such as banana, mango, litchi, chickoo, grapes from your diet.

Eggs are a good source of protein for every one, that is those who like to take. For a diabetic person also they are good. You may take 2 to 3 eggs per day. Again the requirement depends on any special workout if one does, because protein need may be more. Thanks.
