It depends on the cause of Elephantiasis. If it is due to Filariasis, then she can have recurrent lymphangitis and associated fever and leg pain. This can be prevented by taking a medicine called Banocide, once every 6 months. Please consult a general physician who can assess the condition and prescribe the correct dosage and duration of the medication.

At present there is no cure for any of the mucopolysaccharide diseases.Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT)has been approved by the FDA for several of the MPS diseases, but ERT has not been shown to be effective in MPS III. Bone marrow transplants have been tried on individuals with MPS III, but with disappointing results. Gene therapy, chaperone therapy and intrathecal enzyme therapy are a few of the treatments for MPS III where research is ongoing

For haemoglobin include iron rich foods like jaggery, raisins. You can have wheat grass juice 2 tsp in water early morning. Also for iron absorption include vitamin c rich foods like sprinkle lemon over green moong dal sprouts. Have more antioxidant fruits like pomegranate, oranges, kiwi and vegetables like spinach, beetroot in your diet.

it is a parasite disease and leads to extra swellings specially on legs-reason this is also called elephantiasis. there is specific treatment available for it and cure is nearly 100% but some scarring remains.
