yes, bleeding gums signify the existence of gingivitis. If timely treatment is not given, it may lead to severe form of gum disease known as periodontitis. The tar has to be cleared and you will be put on antibiotics to reverse the disease process.

Gums bleeding is due to infection in gums. Get scalling done by dentist. Take vit c tab for one week. Use proper brushing techniques with any flouridatd toothpaste. Brush, floss n use mouthwash twice daily. Massage your gums with your finger tips after brushing. Keep your tongue clean. Rinse your mouth well after each meal. Visit your dentist for dental checkups every 6 months to detect n prevent dental probs.

Gingivitis can be treated but requires maintenance to prevent worsening of the situation. Such cases will be assessed by clinical and radiographic examination. Depending on the bone level, further management is done.
Please be aware that gingivitis does not settle in one sitting. You need to see the dentist every six months and undergo procedures as and when required.

But, then you will need professional teeth cleaning and polishing by dentist.
Brushing, flossing and using mouthwash twice daily after meals will help you to maintain good oral health after teeth cleaning.

Vitamin c helps in wound healing and controls bleeding due to gum infection. However routine teeth cleaning, warm salt water rinses, twice brushing and proper technique of brushing are as much important.
