Dear Lybrate use both of them contain the same medication and dose but glyciphage sr is released slowly in the stomach so will contain less gastric side effects. You may consider elcephase 500 sr if it is available as it is same as glycomet 500 sr.

1. Drink water 16 glasses daily 2. Take high fibre diet and low fat and carbohydrates diet plan and do exercise.
3. Stop eating outside foods and packets foods, junk foods etc fatty. 4. Smaller meals in small quantity 5. Early dinner before 6 pm.

I believe you have diabetes mellitus and it is of the type two, more commonly known as t2dm and therefore your doctor has you on volix m 0.2. As I psychiatrist I believe you should not be drinking alcohol at all.
