Hi, weight consists of 4 elements like- muscles, fat ,bone and water. Each element is essential for the body and can be measured by doing a body composition test. A diet high in processed food, saturated fat and fried items with sedentary lifestyle can increase fat mass so the abdomen and lower body can increase. Whereas increase in dietary proteins along with a balanced diet and physical activity can increase the muscle mass giving hypertrophy effect in the arms and legs.

Good evening sir,
whole legumes, pulses and fruits are good source of potassium. But it not like that we need to restrict potassium intake for all kidney patients. Low potassium diets are recommended for kidney patients whose serum potassium levels are higher than normal. I would suggest you consult a clinical dietitian to plan a diet chart for the concerned patient.
