Hello lybrate-user, if you are diagnosed to have fistula, then please understand that it's an extra passage which is communicating from rectum with outside. So only ointment or antibiotic will not going to give you cure. Sitting in hot betadine water is going to keep the area clean. But you need to consult one proctologist for this. I will suggest you that please don't do anything very specific or aggressive at this moment. U just had a surgery, give your body some time to recover. Everything will settle down. Only thing you need is a good sits bath regularly, and probably a probiotics like bifilac. It will settle down soon.

Get a test called mri fistulogram done from good mri scan center near you and send the results, will advise further after that.

Depends on the background history of your health, how old and deep is the problem and how accurate is the prescription with proper case study.
