Get an xray done pa and lateral view of your ankle. Sometime you get a hairline fracture when ankle is twisted. If this is so go for soft plaster for 4 weeks.

bandage is not of any use for fractures. It depends on which bone is fractured - if its toe fractures then you dont need any thing other than ice and elevation - but if its any other fracture then you need a proper plaster cast

1) The height of the legs should be such that the blood does not accumulate in the legs, so above chest level.
2) when sleeping, it is preferable that you do not use any bandage, since normal circulation to the rest of the leg should become normal.
