Hello in 2018, 3 years earlier I was detected thyroid tsh 8.5, anti tpo <1500, doctor suggested medicine thyronorm 12.5. In week 4 days only, because if I take every day tsh value getting low like 0.02 approx, after 2 years in 2020 even taking 4 days tsh value was getting low, so I completely stop medicine, and was doing test for period of 3-3 months and it was normal range, now I was done a package test on friend suggestion so tsh 8.34 shows higher, anti tpo >600 and vit d 14.5, also for bp 130/90 I am taking starpress xl 12.5 from 2018. Please suggest what to do?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. From that I understand you had hashimot0o's thyroiditis (ht), which caused hypothyroidism and were on treatment with levothyroxine. Since tsh was low, treatment was stopped and now again it is high. Please clarify following: 1) when was the treatment stopped? What were the t3, t4 & tsh levels at that time? 2) do you have any symptoms related to hypothyroidism now? 3) your bmi (body mass index) is 28.75 kg/sq meter very close to being obese. Has your weight increased after stopping the treatment? 4) what are the current t3, t4 levels as well as lipid levels? It is necessary to know all these. Then only I will be able to advise. Another aspect it is better to get thyroid profile test done at a good local lab rather than going for online package deals. Plus why are you taking metoprolol 12.5 mg? Why was it prescribed? Please come back with all the above clarifications. Thanks.

Avoid oiling scalp. Use only non comedogenic doctor's recommended products. Sometimes only topicals do not work much hence you require orals as well. Acne requires long term management. Oral + topical + lifestyle. Consult online with images for detailed evaluation and management accordingly.

If you are unhappy about the withdrawal effects of proxyvon, then meet with the doctor, who will prescribe other medicines to deal with the withdrawal. These will help you tide over the impacts you describe and remove the addiction to proxyvon. But before all this I think you have not worked on the need for proxyvon for dealing with some pain you had experienced earlier. If it is a physical pain, you may have exceeded the use and gotten addicted. If it is psychological hurt then you need to address that through therapy. This will definitely make it easier to come off of the medication. Anyway, you seem to have some traits of an addictive personality. These too need psychological attention to come off of the addiction. All addictions appease the hedonic drive in us, i.e. We are all driven by a desire to avoid pain and seek pleasure. In life generally, this entails a long effort followed by a short pleasure. Drugs turn this reality of life on its head by increasing the pleasure and reducing the pain. Naturally, we, and animals too, would rather seek this shortcut, even if it were to kill us. Apart from that, there is dependence and tolerance, two factors that work together, to increase our need for the substance and to need more of it for the same pleasure, over time. These effects condition us psychologically and physically, so giving up becomes a very difficult task. That is why detoxification is recommended for chronic cases to eliminate the physical craving at least to start the process of relatively easier recovery. First, it is important to identify why you drug yourself: it usually has something to do with suppressing some deep-rooted pain. Get thorough knowledge about the habit, proxyvon, and its mechanisms. Attend na meetings, and if your case is very serious, admit yourself into a rehabilitation center for at least 6 months. The desire to want to quit is perhaps the most important condition. Giving up the habit is not easily done by yourself: you will need the support and help of a good group and therapist. By the way, you may have many relapses. Don’t ever give up. Your perseverance is the key. And the help of your family is absolutely essential to a good resolution. You need to develop new habits and find new ways of gratification etc. All in all, you need to be able to abstain from it for at least three years to know that you are relatively safe from addiction.

I'm having sensitivity and slight pain in my wisdom tooth which is decaying and 1/4th of it is broken so the dentist advised me to remove the tooth and it will leave a stitch behind as the roots of my tooth are not perfectly vertical. So is the advice given by the dentist the right choice or do I have any other better option?

You should get an opg done. This will help evaluate the amount of decay, the position of your tooth roots as well as proximity of the roots to the underlying nerve. Then the decision can be taken whether to get it removed or not. Kindly consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the same.

In most cases, waxing or plucking nasal hair is not recommended. Pulling out individual hairs can lead to ingrown hairs and infection. Waxing, especially, could hurt the skin deep inside your nose.

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. These factors can trigger or aggravate acne: hormones, certain medications, diet, stress. To prevent pimples, eat fresh fruits, green vegetables, drinking plenty of water should be an essential part of your routine and intake of oily fried foods, an excess of sugar-salt should be avoided. Don't peal pimples, as they tend to leave scars. Stop using soap on face. Instead take a spoon of milk, add a pinch of turmeric (haldi). Mix n apply on face with the help of cotton. Leave for a few minutes then wash off. It’s a good cleanser. If skin is dry then apply moisturizer like coconut oil. For swollen pimples, gently apply ice for a minute or so. Just don't keep the ice on so long that it irritates your skin. Tea tree oil can kill bacteria. Some people use it to treat minor skin irritations, including acne. There isn't much research on how effective it is, but tea tree oil is safe to put directly on your skin in a diluted form. Try it on a small area first to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction. Simple honey mask--before applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Yeast and yogurt mask for oily skin--oily skin is prone to acne, and this home remedy can reduce excess oil and help clear acne. To make the mask, combine 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores.Homeopathy is a very effective for this problem n has very encouraging results. For more details consult online.
