A femur fracture usually takes around 20 - 24 weeks (5- 6 months) to completely unite. Depending on the fracture configuration your surgeon will instruct you about weight bearing.

Once the plaster is out, the orthopedic allows partial or full wt bearing on the affected limb depending upon th severity of the fracture and the type of surgery done. Also stretching and strengthening exercises are to be started as soon as possible. Kindly start physiotherapy at the earliest to avoid weakness and wasting.
