Keratoconus is the thinning and bulging of the cornea due to weakening of the bonds between the collagen layers in its structure. The normally round cornea becomes thin and cone-shaped, and bulges out, deflecting the light entering the eye leading to a distorted and blurry vision. While it has a genetic tendency in some instances, it can also be produced by vigorous and long term eye rubbing especially in people with chronic eye allergy.

A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of your eye. For people who have cataracts, seeing through cloudy lenses is a bit like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window.
Clouded vision caused by cataracts can make it more difficult to read, drive a car (especially at night) or see the expression on a friend's face.
Most cataracts develop slowly and don't disturb your eyesight early on. But with time, cataracts will eventually interfere with your vision.

The cornea is the front layer of eyes that helps in focusing light to see objects clearly. In a cornea transplant surgery, the damaged cornea tissue is replaced by a healthy donor tissue. In medical terms, it is known as keratoplasty for corneal graft. The cornea needs to be clear, smooth, and healthy for a good vision. An unhealthy cornea leads to blurry vision.

Details of your power and the cornea status need to be considered. Most commonly though, patients have prk instead of lasik because the prk procedure requires less corneal tissue thickness than lasik does, which is of significant consideration for patients with naturally thinner corneas or higher amounts of nearsightedness or both.
