The ointment you are using has steroid and may cause harm on long term use. So stop it. Stop rubbing your eyes, more you rub more itiching may occur. Besides it may lead to inturning or out turning of eyelids and lead to more complications. Try applying coconut oil or castor oil over eye lids and slowly massage. You can wash it off after sometime. But do not use string soap. This can prevent drying of skin around eyes and prevent itiching.

Hello sir. Excess of mucus/ eye discharge can be either due to some infection inside the eyes or because of blockage of the tear passage draining into the nose. Both conditions are treatable. Firstly one has to start medications for the same and then if not improving with such measures, one has to undergo a surgery as the last resort. Hope this helps. You can reach me out for consultation and for addressing your concerns in further details in a more personalised manner. Thank you.

Hello. Itching at the corners of the eye is a very common problem. It can be due to allergic, infective or inflammatory causes. The diagnosis will depend of a detailed history and examination. An eye doctor would like to know if you have an allergic tendency or any sinus problem. For how long you have this problem? Is it in one eye or both? Are you currently on treatment for any other illness? Do any of your family members have allergy? A good quality picture of the eye will be a great help to a...more
