Hello. Floaters can be physiological (normal) or pathological (abnormal). Physiological floaters are due to tiny condensed vitreous and are not damaging to the eye at all other than giving a floating particle sensation, so can be ignored.
Pathological floaters on the other hand can be dangerous as they maybe due to an impending retinal tear/ detachment. These floaters if not timely managed, can be vision threatening. If identified early, can be treated with laser and/or surgery. No type of m...more

Hello. Entoptic phenomenon is a normal mechanism in which objects inside the eye create visual effects as they cast shadow against the retina. There is nothing to worry about it at all. Also, I request you to specify ‘weak spot’ as said by your doctor. Weak spot can mean a lot of things to an eye doctor. You can provide photographs of your documents to get a clarity first, so that particular issue can be discussed in detail, which will help in clarifying your doubts.
Secondly, arcus most...more

Hello. Whitish ring like circle surrounding the cornea is due to lipid deposition when it is in excess inside the body. Arcus (meaning arc i.e.circle) and senilis (means aged) occurs is elderly people. You might be having arcus juvenilis as you are young. To put up a diagnosis for your eyes at this moment will be difficult without examining the eyes first. Also it may require some tests further. A good quality picture of the eye will be a lot helpful to guide you further.

Hello. First of all, there is no need to panic as on now. The problem you are facing is a normal phenomenon when the vitreous (liquid) inside the eye shows changes known as degeneration. As on now, there is nothing to be done.
But you should immediately consult an ophthalmologist near you in case these floaters suddenly increase in numbers or you experience profound dimness of vision.
Hope this helps.

Hello. Floaters are a normal phenomenon occurring in many normal people. It's completely normal to have them. But there are certain retinal problems too which you may have and these are the initial symptoms of that. There is no need to panic at all. Most of the time nothing is done in such cases. But we need to discuss your case in detail before telling you that. You can consult with me anytime for the same. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Hello. Floaters and flashes can be normal or abnormal too. Few spots moving about your visual field can be common. But consult an eye doctor immediately if there is a sudden increase in their number or there is shadow like a fall of curtain. To say anything about permanent loss of vision with the limited history and information about you will be very premature at this time. An eye doctor would like to know if you have any glasses or not? If yes, what is the power and since how long you have been...more

Hello. You can follow up after 6 months. In between if you experience 1. A fall of curtain like shadow or 2. A sudden appearance of floaters (black floating spots in front of your eyes) or 3. Sudden and profound decrease in vision, in that case you should immediately consult a retina specialist. Hope this helps. You can reach me out anytime for discussing your case in detail and for any further queries. Thank you.

Hello. Feeling sorry to inform you that if retinal detachment occurs (even if you have had laser photocoagulation), then surgery is the only way to re attach it back. No kind of medicine can help you with this. If there is a sudden appearance of a fall of curtain like shadow or excessive sudden increase in floaters or flashes of light, then you must consult an ophthalmologist on an urgent basis and not wait for long if surgery is advised to you. The more time you spend in waiting to get operated...more

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
A vitrectomy is an invasive surgery that can remove eye floaters from your line of vision. Within this procedure, your eye doctor will remove the vitreous through a small incision.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
