lybrate-user, If hemorrhoids are swollen, painful and bleeding, then most often surgical treatment is required. Now a days laser surgery is said to be a better option. Precautions to be taken are take fiber containing foods, plenty of vegetables, fruits like banana, less of spicy foods and occasionally if needed use of mild laxatives to avoid hardening of stools. Plus develop good bowel habits. In spite of all hemorrhoids may reappear. Thanks.
