Hi, since it is a single stone, you can try medical management for 3 months and reassess stone size on ultrasound. If the size decreases, then you can continue medical management. If the stone is not dissolving, eswl (lithotripsy) or flexible ureteroscopy with laser are the best treatment options.

1.If the stone size is less than 6 mm, no treatment is required. It will be excretd in urine by drinking adequate water (8-10 glass) daily. 2.Stone size bigger than 6 mm are prone to cause obstruction in ureter and can cause complication. It has to be surgically removed (PCNL/ESWL)
3. Take USG KUB and consult urologist with report for advice and treatment.

Yes your health insurance should work, stone in ureter should be removed either by urs or by eswl, for all stones you need to be investigated like urine rm, urine cs, serum creatinine ,serum calcium, serum uric acid and x ray ivp to be done, to know why stones are forming and what diet you should take. Stones of 6 mm or less may pass spontaneously, you should take plenty of fluids orally, consult urologist. Ureteric stone should be removed early.
