salbair and asthalin have similar action and both are used as needed in bronchial asthma.
While asthalin contains salbutamol, salbair contains levosalbutamol.
Levosalbutamol is a isomer of salbutamol with comparatively lesser side effect potential.

Expectorants are of two types:
mucolytics: which thin out tenacious mucoid secretions in the airways
mucokinetics or âexpectorantsâ: they help the clearance of mucus by making coughing easier
both should not be prescribed in dry cough as they are known to aggravate cough.
However, wet cough is due to the secretions in the airways and should never be suppressed. Mucokinetics are used in this case which makes coughing easier.
Mucokinetics are not combined with antitussives....more

No helpful details like tests done, medications taken, type of doctors consulted, other complaints is given. Appears like acute bronchitis or bronchiolitis or childhood asthma. One has to find the causative agent like dust, fungus, pollen etc avoid once identified to the extent possible. Consult paediatric pulmonologist and remain under his guidance for regular monitoring, treatment etc.
