Breast cancer most commonly presents as painless lump, nipple discharge, redness of skin , Asymmetric breasts, lump in armpits, enlargement of one of the breast etc. It is treated by surgery primarily follow ed by other treatments like chemotherapy, radiotherapy hormonal therapy depending on histopathology and immunohistochemistry.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among indian women and it is best to be aware about it.
The ways by which you can detect breast cancer st an early stage are:
- regular breast self examinations (monthly)
- clinical examination by a breast specialist - once in three years. After 35 years - every year
- mammography - yearly after 40 years in addition to this, regular exercise and maintaining your body weight also reduces your risk.

Skin cancers present as ulceration or growth over skin. Ulceration are irregular and sometimes burrowing types. It also present as sudden change in size of mole or thickening of skin or lymph node enlargement may be there. Mostly risk factors are ultraviolet radiation exposure, chemical exposure to skin, post burn or sometimes some viral infection. Avoiding over exposure to sun, using sunscreen, regular self examination helps in prevention and early diagnosis.

Cancer usually presents as a painless lump, unexplained weight loss, bleeding, fever, ulceration. It usually depends on organ affected. But any symptoms persistent beyond a month, please get it checked. One must eat healthy food, keep away from carcinogens, avoid consuming alcohol, tobacco, avoid radiation, and hormonal therapy. Have children before thirty years and breast feed them. Maintaining hygiene etc some preventive steps.

Cancer is abnormal uncontrolled proliferation of cells leading to formation of lumps. It may also present as nonhealing ulceration, abnormal bleeding, weight loss, fever, change in bowelor bladder habits sore throat etc, depending on the organ effected. Some cancers are hereditary and can be transferred from one generation to other like breast cancer, ovarian cancer, family of cancer syndrome like men etc. But the percentage of familial cancers are only 5-7%. Rest are mostly acquired.
