I am subham from calcutta. I have a drum leak in my right ear. Recently I consulted a doctor (ent doctor). He prescribed an ear drop called candibiotic. Now the word "for external use only" is written on the top of the drop, but due to a leak in my ear drum. I can feel and taste that the liquid / drop often comes in the mouth. I have to swallow it. So, is it harmful to health?

Hello lybrate-user. Ntg to wry. U must have got hole in your tympanic membrane hence drops instilled in ear is reaching your throat. Consult ent to know the status of ear drum. No problem if you swallow the medicine.

There is no special food to make the eardrum heal and you need to avoid water getting into the ear ( avoid swimming and dripping in water, if you the habit of doing so

My son is just 5 years old. he inserted rubber pieces in his ear its very closer to ear drum doctor told us after giving anesthesia only we can remove is their any home remedy to it. Or any suggestions.

Don't misunderstand me, I said don, t waste time, follow, ent surgeon's advice. It is of paramount importance to protect ear drum. Child will not allow smooth removal without anaesthesia.

use better quality headphones to attend calls or attend on loud speakers.
Do pranayam daily.

if holes are there we cant cure with medicunes..better go with an operation..try to control infection related to that by using antibiotic drops daily twi times..if she has hearing problem too then gi fir audiometry test..if the ear is bothering with pain and hearing problem then an operation might be useful..
