I poked my pinky in my ear, and I think I scratched my ear canal, it's paining. There is no discharge or any other symptom of bursting my ear drum. But it's paining hard man.

Hello, It's never good to poke ear with anything. If the pain is severe, then it's better to take consultation from an ent doctor.

For digestion eat small frequent meals and avoid spicy food, smoking and alcohol

To keep your eat dry , prevent water getting into ear , if you have cold take decongestants and steam inhalation . Take care

Perforated ear. Had ear drum operation. But not successful. Hearing reduced to moderate. Now doctor says sinus is the reason for operation failure. Tired of operation and pain. One hospital says have sinus operation directly accompanied with ear on the same sitting. What should I do what r the success rate of these operation as hospital says ear drum operation never fails.

Please do not get them done in the same sitting. Get the sinus problem corrected first and once that improves get your ear operated.

I have drum sound in left ear when environment is peace. This problem is always in winter from 2 years. Also soft pain in left ear and feel as close the left ear as cold but no flow. I have often headache. Previous year, I had contact with ENT. They cleaned the ear and give the drop and medicine for 15 days but no any relief. In this season on night time listen the drum sound more.

it is normal .try to npt listen to those sounds by putting radio etc..those sounds will not harm u .

Health Query

Before 4-5 years I was suffering from high fever, in that condition automatically I lost hearing from my right ear only auditory nerve is damaged drum and everything is perfect, I have done checkups and treatments but everyone said no chance to solve or fix it now, and I do not believe that its a impossible thing.:) because of My ear drum is perfect I can hear touch, voice or sound but not from auditory nerve. So do you have any doctor who can treat and solve this issue?

Dear lybrate-user if attach an audiogram report or mention the audiogram findings will give me clear idea about type of hearing loss whether it's treatable or not. If it's sensorineural hearing loss in which ear drum is normal but there is permanent loss of inner ear that is cochlea or auditory nerve is mostly not treated by medical or surgical treatment. Hello Doctor, there is slightly a bigger hole in my left ear drum. I have not operated still. I use ear buds often to clean the fluid which keeps coming from the ear. One day a slightly big piece of substance came out. Is there chances that ear drum breaks and comes out when we keep disturbing with the ear buds. Now I have some kind of head ache, nose blockage, throat irritation. Totally my body condition is different. Recently I have lost much weight. All ghee problem are not due to your ear problem. The ear drum does not come out in pieces like this. And most importantly get the ear drum defect repaired surgically do that you stop suffering.

I am suffering from ear drain (yellow water comes from ear) from the age of childhood. It will generally occurs when I am suffered from Cold. I saw no of doctors they said that in my ear drum there are many small holes and suggest me to do ear surgery. So I ask you to please suggest some other methods through which I come out of this. Hello Aslam,
Smaller holes in the ear drum usually cover up with antibiotics. You will have to undergo a full course of antibiotics. If however the antibiotic fails to cover the hole, surgery will be the best option.
