Influenza is viral illness, common symptoms being running nose, red eyes, cough etc, you r having allergic reactions to seasonal changes. Consult a physician for it. Vaccination is for influenza a virus .if you are diabetic then you can get vaccinated for prevention of flu.

First of all it would be better if you would have mentioned about your smoking habits otherwise I would like to suggest you following:
advice:
1. Take proper antibiotic (brand matters a lot). You may use one falling in macrolide category.
2. Anti-tussive group of cough syrup
3. Antihistaminics
4. Angipyretics
5. Antacids
6. Multivitamins for fast recovery.
7. Steam therapy.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user kant, any cough lasting more than 1 month needs proper investigations for determining the cause.
You can get a cbc esr gbp. Sputum if present (afb< grams stain< fungus) and chest x ray pa view & seek advice from Lybrate pulmonologist.
