My dad has a tumor in the upper and mid pole of the right kidney measuring 14 *6.9*10.5 CMS as per latest USG. 2. Likewise prostrate is also enlarged at 5 CMS. 3. The Impressions mentioned in the report include Mild Hepatocellular splenomegaly, small cyst measuring 1.7 CMS in the left lobe of liver, mass lesion in the right kidney, enlarged prostate. 4.The latest chest ray states, well defined rounded opacities in right mid zone and bilateral lower zone with a possibility of lungs metastasis. 5. He has lost 10 kgs in the last 1 year. 6. His left and right foot especially appear to be swelling now. Not sure why. 7. He wakes up 6-7 times at night to pass urine and as a result has a disturbed sleep. 8.He has been constantly having cough and pain along the lower back and spinal cord. If surgery needs to be done, how critical would that be? Life threats now versus Post surgery? Can surgery be avoided? Any effective oral medication?

Appears kidney cancer with spread to lung. PET/CT scan will show all the body parts affected with it, so that it can be analysed and managed better. Surgery is not required when there is already metastasis (spread). Oral medications are available to keep a control over the growth of tumor so that life can be extended. Please consult a qualified medical oncologist near by for further analysis and prescription.

He would need a CT thorax to confirm the size and number of metastasis. Also a bone scan would be advisable if bone pain or raised alkaline phosphate level in blood. PET CT scan can be done instead of both the above investigations. MRI brain if symptomatic.
If he is asymptomatic for the lung mets and his general condition is good and tumor is resectable and not poor prognosis on IMDC criteria (based on some blood reports and contition of Patient), then I prefer to to a cytoreductive nephrect...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Chicken pox a viaral infection is self limiting. There is really no treatment for that. If there is very high fever one may need antipyretics like paracetamol.
Antiviral drugs are not at all required. The lesions appear in crop and in about 12 hours dry up. Person remains infectious for a few days when lesions are drying. Taking drugs like gabapentine is absolutely unnecessary. Cefixime has no role at all as it is an antibiotic. Intake of enough liquids is im...more

Better to see a head and neck surgeon or an Oncosurgeon. It is more likely an acute infection or TB than cancer or lymphoma. They may ask for an Ultrasound or FNAC of the same.

Hi, Recently 10 days back my mom noticed some thing hard in left breast and done with scan and fnac .the reports resulted duct cell carcinoma and no lymphadenopathy. She went to hyd to confirm about it they did pet scan and mammogram of both tests. In pet scan they gave in neck: multiple hypodense nodules noted in both lobes of thyroid with minimal fdg uptake-- likely benign. Chest: Irregular soft tissue density parenchymal lesion noted involving superomedial quadrant of left breast. No direct skin / chestwall infiltration seen. No satellite nodules noted. Lessons shows moderately increased fdg uptake (SUV MAX: 8.7)-- primary. Increased fdg uptake noted in few enlarged left axillary and subcentimeter subpectoral lymph nodes (SUV MAX: 5.6 in largest axillary node) Bones: foci of increased fdg uptake noted in anterior opposing end plates of D2-D3 and D3-D4 vertebrae (SUV MAX: 10.6) inflammatory? Metastatic. A radio lucent intensely fdg avid lesion noted right transverse process of D3 vertebra (SUV MAX :15.6)-- metastatic. Remaining report is normal. What is the stage of breast cancer? And one of our friend told that it has been spread to spine is there any life risk problem. Within 2 days she is having surgery for left breast but doctors did not mentioned about back bone. Does chemotherapy helps to cure this problem after surgery. Please help us.

To summarize she has a breast lesion and bone lesion. We need to review the PET CT images. In the absence of axillary lymphadenopathy it is unlikely that bone lesions is due to cancer. I would suggest you to review PET CT images if non metastatic, go ahead with surgery followed by chemotherapy followed by radiation if metastatic looking, do biopsy to prove it then plan further.

That small lump with tenderness beneath the nipple is a normal part of puberty. In fact, about half of all boys develop gynecomastia during puberty. It's usually temporary and can happen on just one side or both.
you can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance
