Did she receive chemotherapy for colon cancer? Peripheral neuropathy can be common in patients who have received chemo. Also Kindly check her vitamin B 12 and blood glucose levels. Leg Lifts – Sit on the floor/mat or lie on your back with your feet straight out. Slowly, lift one leg at a time from the floor. Hold your leg in the air. Slowly, lower your leg back down to the floor. Repeat on the opposite leg.

as you said TCC already applied and got relived. That was the first step of medical Mgt of Charcot foot. As its a complex phenomenon and is due to underlying neuropathy as well as osteoarhropathy. One should be careful while treating it. Please do have your Xray followed by MRI. Management is based on medical as well as surgical one. But again you need to be evaluated at the center for clinical examination. Feel free to call me. Regards.

Absolutely, smoking will harm the nerves too and he can aggravate the neuropathy. Quitting alcoholism is a tremendous achievement but he has to give up the smoking too. Get him to an addiction counselor and that help may resolve it for him. In the recommendation of the counselor he can also seek the help of medication and nicotine substitutes to ease the quitting scene.
