Gallbladder Cancer Surgery Questions

Asked for male, 77 years old from Greater Noida

My father is 78 years old. Recently he suffered high fever, was diagnosed perforated gallbladder causing fluid leakage, swelling and infection. Cluster of stones detected in ultrasound and CT Scan. He was admitted and fluid made to dry with medicine and antibiotics. He is now fit and normal. However, doctors advised gallbladder surgery as it will repeat the ailment. He is diabetic and has undergone heart bypass surgery in 2012. Presurgery tests - all ok except heart functioning at 28% (high risk). We are too much worried and confused as surgery is must. Is it ok to go ahead with surgery?

You can go ahead with surgery in a centre where there is cardiac backup like Medanta, Fortis or Apollo. Still it will be a high risk surgery.

I had undergone a Gall bladder removal surgery last 7 days back. There is no pain right now. They have put 4 holes. They said Stitches ll automatically fall down within 2 weeks. But am facing an issue past 2 days. When I sleep in the night and while getting up in the morning I could notice some blood discharge near the naval where the stitches have put. Is anything to worry? When we asked doctor he said nothing to worry. Am concerned about it.

Hello I have gone through fistulectomy surgery of fistula in anno one month before I have pain n burning sensation in surgery. The healing is taking time n wound is still there n I am doing dressing daily also n one nurse sister also doing dressing once in a day n that is painful. I wanted to know that is dressing is compulsory n how long does wound take time to cure. Today is 1 month 8 days gone still it's not healing or it will take time. My father is undergoing dialysis (thrice a week). He has heart blocks and having pain very often. His age is 66 and weighs around 108 kgs. Doctors have taken angiogram and told that the vessels were shrink and it is not a good idea to do angioplasty or bypass for him since he is also undergoing dialysis. 1.your patient is already on dialysis, his kidneys are not functioning to take nitrogen load of ayurvedic treatment. 2. I do sympathize with your plight ,but all can be done is to put him on few blood thinners and prevent further plaque buildup.
3. Reviewing reports with a cardiologist once may help manage his pain atleast.

Yes please continue both clopidogrel and ascard 75 mg. These are blood thinners required lifelong after cabg surgery. If discontinued then the risk of graft blockage is high.
