My beta hcg level was 322 units on day 12 of ivf transfer. Doctor told me to stop dexamethasone and after 2 days, on repeat test, the beta hcg dropped drastically to 117. Can any explain me, what could be the cause of drop and if there is any relationship between dexamethasone and embryo survival. Same thing happened one year ago when we lost embryo as it was declared blighted ovum. But in that case hcg never went down in three month pregnancy until we used medicine to flush that out.

I am very sorry to hear that you lost the pregnancy. This fall in beta hcg happens in case of a failing pregnancy. There are many reasons why this can happen. Most commonly this happens in early pregnancy due aneuploidy in the embryo. I do not think it was because of stopping the dexamethasone tablet. If you are having repeated blighted ovum or missed abortions, please discuss with your doctor, so that they can suggest further testing if required.

A few weeks after I had unprotected sex I started getting a sort stretchy pain that comes and goes, burning sensation during peeing and lower abdominal cramps. I had a history of kidney stones but I suspected myself of having an ectopic pregnancy (i had taken levonorgestrel about 48 hours after sexual contact) after negative pregnancy test results and unusual vaginal bleeding and took 30 mg of methotrexate. After 14 hours to ease the cramps in lower abdominal area, I took 4000 mcg of folic acid supplements but now I have concerns that the methotrexate may not work as intended.

So who prescribed you methotrexate? Was it taken after doing an ultrasound? The dose is incorrect. And methotrexate can cause adverse reactions. Please give us a copy of your reports and usg to guide you better.

My girlfriend is pregnant but she told me she had a miscarriage because when she was sleeping last night she felt like something kicked her stomach and she felt some pains. After that night in the morning she started bleeding and some clots but after few hours it stops. Please I want to know if that's really a miscarriage.

I'm a female, 28 years old. My last pregnancy I had a miscarriage, now I am almost 5 months pregnant but the problem is I have lost most of the pregnancy symptoms at 3 months and have since developed a very severe backache, it's becomes a struggle for me laying down and waking up every time. I have had bleeding throughout this pregnancy, not very heavy but quite dark and this has recently stopped. I'm worried I have a miscarriage again and I don't know about it, I get very bloated every time I eat but I wake up every morning looking perfectly fine (not pregnant). What should I do?

If required for severe backache may refer to an orthopaedic surgeon. As such backache is common during pregnancy.

I am 27 years old. I had miscarriage in march and took medical abortion. Last month we found there are retained products and had d and c last week. It's been 10 days after the procedure. I had spotting in first five days and as I went to work I had bleeding. Doctor suggested me to take deviry 10 mg tablets. I had three doses of tablets. Still I saw some blood today morning like light bleeding. Is it supposed to bleed while taking this tablet? Should I be worried? What could be wrong? When will this bleeding subside?
