platelet count generally falls in conditions like viral infections (like dengue, drug induced (that is when you use some specific antibiotics for too long), in some autoimmune diseases etc. Same goes with wbc ie with some infections and autoimmune disorder, in disorders related to spleen, in some infectious diseases like tb and some cancers. Platelet count greater than 4.5 lac is termed as Thrombocytosis / Thrombocythemia in Medical terminology.It needs to be investigated. This condition occurs when your body produces too many platelets, which can lead to abnormal clotting. ...
