In winter season it is usually caused due to sweat deposit into the skin. Keep the area hygienic by washing it with mild disinfectant such as dettol or savlon if it is not due to the above usual cause we will proceed thereafter.

The virus is actually quite fragile, and can survive only 10 to 20 minutes in direct sunlight, but may live for up to two hours in saliva on an animal's coat. It is readily inactivated by heat, sunlight, detergent and disinfectants.
