your situation seems your wife might be suffering from some lung ailment and not getting relieved with steroids. You did not mention any other drugs she is taking and whats the investigations done to her to confirm the disease. Immediately consult a general physician or pulmonologist so that the infection if at all present will not spread too much. Get well soon.
