Dear user avoid fried foods sweets, pkgd foods, colas, juices, ice creams use skim milk n its products if non vegetarian den stick to chicken n fish, avoid red meats use of whole grains n pulses will help you in keeping sugar levels in control root veggies like aloo should be taken in moderation minimize use of fat, use refined oil go for exercise or walk daily try various types of veggies in salad form. Fasting n feasting should be avoided.

You can control diabetes by following a proper balanced diet chart. You need to have more of whole grain fibrous food rather than refined food product. Eat at regular time interval. Do exercise regularly. Avoid taking sweet products. Eat fruits, vegetables in liberal amount.

Dear lybrateuser,
- Diabetes is the increase in blood sugar of the person
- it could be type 1 wherein there is lack of insulin production by the pancreas & type 2 ( more commonly found) wherein insulin is produced but there is a problem with its utilization by the body cells, in both cases the blood sugar increases.

Following are a few suggestions:
1) take your medication as advised by doctpr without missing a dose,
2) avoid sweets, direct sugar and jaggery, deep fried foods, high fat cheese, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks and products containing fructose corn syrup.
3) take a restricted diet, that provides exact calories based on ideal body weight (60 kgs)
4) regular exercise for at least 1 hour a day, like brisk walking, jogging, running, gym exercises etc.

Yes you can take fruits and diary products. Take in moderate amount you can take 500 ml milk (including curd or any other preparation from milk).
While having fruits include fiber rich fruits. You want to eat banana, chickoo, grapes, you can have half or 3/4, half chickoo or 5, 6 grapes.
In simple way if you are eating in moderate n suggests amount you can have evrythinh.

Hello, Glucagon is a counter regulatory hormone, produced when blood glucose goes down. It helps increase glucose level by breaking glycogen from liver. It is present in usual quantity in diabetes too.

Milk cheese or other dairy products are high in calory and hence should be taken in moderation, otherwise your blood sugar will increase.

These so called protein supplement including the one referred, give only small quantity of protein and contain a good deal of carbs. There is no point in wasing money on such products. If you are looking for extra protein supplement then eggs are a better choice. In case you are a pure vegetarian then there are many products that give zero carbs available on Amazon with 62 to 80 % proteins, those are better. Thanks.

Research says Onion rather stimulates Insulin Production and eventually reduces Blood Sugar Levels. So there is no harm. Onion should be the part of your daily salad portion.
