Mr. lybrate-user, Honey contains sucrose which is same as sugar. If person with diabetes takes it then it is like eating sugar. There will be a rapid increase in the blood glucose level, depending on how much honey is taken. Plus I have no idea as what advantage honey has in "ulcer like condition" Hence I am of te opinion it should be avoided. Thanks.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need hexigel ointment until then. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Dear Lybrateuser, - She should maintain oral hygiene by brushing teeth after every meal, do Listerine solution gargles twice a day
- get a checkup done by a dentist to rule if any tooth is causing the problem, also a biopsy of the ulcer may have to be taken for exact diagnosis since it is a long standing problem
- avoid spicy & hot food, drink plenty of oral fluids
- blood sugar should be regularly monitored & lowered by proper diet, exercise & medication.
