If you feel any kind of discomfort then visit your dentist and get it checked again, if not then there is no need to worry. Sometime it takes few days to adjust to the bite as your teeth are use to the space being empty.

Implant surgery is quick but it takes almost 4 to 5 months for it to integrate with the bone so that waiting period is present for all kinds of implant. There is no such classification of less painful or more painful implant. as you have mentioned you have problem while eating hard food there can be many reasons for this. The most common reason is pyorrhoea or periodontitis. So when the bone support of the teeth becomes less that is usual as the age grows, that is when the teeth are not able to bite on hard food with efficiency.

What is the nature of the pain? If pain is intermittent without much discomfort then I think it may be due to eating something hard. If the pain is continuous then it is quite possible that the nerve is infected. Its better to get it checked out from a nearby dentist.
