Hello
molar tooth is not extracted for braces. It's premolar tooth which is of least importance. And removing teeth vary from case to case. It's not compulsory. Need to seek advice from orthodontist.

Generally it is saying in ssb that teeth has to be in sound condition and it is repairable in condition can get point, but you have some teeth which are not sound and one extracted molar soo point will be less, but don't worry in very very rare cases a aspirant has been rejected due to dental point ,soo if you qualify in other medical test it won't matter I think.

Dear Lybrate user, tooth extraction in no way has any harmful effect on your memory or eye sight. Please don't rely on google information. It's a myth that tooth extraction can have an effect o any other part of the human body. Stay relaxed.

When wisdom teeth is impacted it better to extract it. Permanent remedy is extraction, other then that you may take pain killer, antibiotic (if needed).

I had RCT for right side lower teeth 5. After one month, I started feeling extreme bad pain which was not fully going even after painkiller. I immediately visited dentist who said a rice size extra small teeth between teeth 4 and 5 is giving me the pain so he extracted that. Next day he released pressure of RCT tooth. It kept paining so today he removed crown and have appointment for tuesday that he will remove RCT material and leave tooth with medicine. Immediately after cap removal, I got a lump behind the teeth which kept increasing in size and right now it's a pea size. I need to understand the reason of this lump which came within last five hours immediately after crown removal. How it will be treated? Do I need to redo RCT or just pus drain or extraction or just antibiotics will help.

Hi lybrate-user, I can understand you had gone through a lot, but don't worry this infection is gonna subside. Mostly after root canal treatment a patient complains of pain due to two reasons either failed root canal or food impaction due to defective crown. The way you described the pain, I mean the intensity of pain suggests failed root canal, may be due to missed canal or due to improper sterilisation. This swelling is due to accumulation of pus, and most probably a gingival abcess due to som...more
