What is Dengue Fever?

Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease caused by any one of four closely related dengue viruses (DENV-1, -2, -3, and -4). Dear lybrate-user, thanks for reaching out since your son's typhidot igm is positive you must get a professional opinion by physical / video consultation with me or any paediatrician at earliest and start antibiotics at recommend dosage and time.
This is because if not treated properly now, he may develop severe complications in adulthood like ulcers in intestinal walls, obstruction of food passage, etc.
Please don't take any such risk.
Take care.

Most of the time aphthous ulcers are due to infection, decreased immunity, or to local alergy/irritation. As patient is 74 years old, definitely steroids are not an option it will reduce immunity.
Patient can be treated with antibiotics and nsaids and multivitamins (b complex)
