Dengue fever is a painful infection transmitted by the bite of one of the 4 closely related viruses that are carried by a type of mosquitoes known as Aedes mosquitoes. The infection is not directly from one person to another.

Symptoms: After the mosquito bite, symptoms set in about 4 to 6 days and can last up to 10 days (as noted below). Most are general symptoms which can be seen with any viral infection and therefore most dengue cases can go undetected.

Dengue n malaria both shows fever with bodyache.
Blood investigations are recommended for confirming infection.
Both are spread through mosquito bites.
So keep mossquitos away as prevention mechanism.

In Dengue you get high fever with shivering with Joints pain and pain behind the eye balls with rashes all over the body. If the Platelets count are below 20 thousands along with bleeding from anywhere then we to give Platelets Transfusion. Usually one gets cured.

This virus is usually transmitted to a person when an infected Aedes mosquito bites them. There are as many as four serotypes of the dengue virus; they are DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4.

It must be noted that all four of them can potentially cause dengue fever. The term "dengue fever" is frequently used to distinguish clinically milder dengue viru...more

Give him Papaya leaves juice 2 spoons daily in morning for 5 days for increasing platelet counts.
And start giving him naturamore male powder with milk for 2 months. Morning and evening. This will make him energetic, and remove the fever of what-so-ever it may be.
And ask him to drink plenty of water 3-4 liters in 24 hours.
He will be absolutely fine and will start feeling good with 2 days. By that time, just try to manage fever, it will also subside. Don't worry. :)

My granddaughter, aged 15 1/2, been suffering from low grade fever for almost 2 weeks with vomiting episodes for the same period. The vomit is usually light yellow though initially had flakes of blood. Vomit happens usually after a heavy meal. Vomiting is quite frequent ranging from 5 to 10 times daily. Endoscopy, ultra sound, blood, urine and tests for malaria and dengue have not shown any abnormality. Generally a healthy individual. Has consulted three different doctors physician, gastroenterologist and Pediatrician who have not been able to find the cause of fever and vomiting. Has been taking medication as per advice to include Pantocid or Pantop, Emset, Lesurpride, Oflotas, Zocef 500 mg, DOMDT 10 mg, calpol 650 mg Received injections ondem IV. Fever now ranges between 101 to 103 mainly at night and vomiting persists. The pediatrician has opined that the parents of the child are passing through divorce proceedings and her relations with her father are very tense. Other symptoms are normal and clear. Including throat and lungs. Could be case of Bulimia. Advised counselling and CBT.

Since she is sick for 2 weeks and running fever ranging between 101 to 103 mainly at night, it may not be a case of Bulimia in spite of strained relation with father. even then counselling may be useful. You can stop all medicine and maintain Temp chart 4 times in a day for 4-5 days. Paracetamol 500 mg may be given if temp is more than 101 degree F and can be repeated after 6 hours if needed. Watch her general behaviour.

You already seem to be suffering from Dengue.
No need to panic.
Consult a Doctor, they will give right advice.
Drink lots of fluids, water, juices, coconut water, lassi, buttermilk, milk, nimbu pani, soups. This is the only way to improve your platelets.
There is no need to take any medicine for Dengue.
Your platelets may fall upto 50,000 then bounce back. Till this point its okay.
However if they fall below 50,000 then you should consult a doctor. Usually they admit pati...more
