greetings
purpose of wearing sport shoes is to have a soft heel. As hard surface (heel) will aggravate the pain. Check if you are vit d deficient. In case of any deficiencies only physical therapy will not help you much. Even if the pain is gone it will recur. I hope that helps.

Try physio therapy to stretch you r foot muscles. Next step, persistent and not improving, steroid injection.
