I scratched my arms badly in sleep which bleed. The skin was healing and a scab formed in 2 days. Went for a massage 2 days later but during the massage, the scabs were removed by nails of the massage and started to bleed. Did not know then but found while showering later. I remember that she inserted one of her hands in her pants inside her undergarments for about 10 seconds and resumed massaging me directly over the area where I had blood. I am worried that while she put her fingers in her pants vaginal/anal fluid or menstrual blood came to contact with her fingers and then she landed it directly on the cut on my arms. My wound had drops of blood at two locations. I tested on day 25,40,55,69,83 and 84 days with a 4th gen combo test (non reactive. I do not know her hiv status. Since then I am avoiding sexual contact with my wife we are looking to start our family. How long to test to 100% rule out hiv. Do I need to test for other std? Also since 86th day I have been experiencing rashes on my forearms and palms which have subsided after taking anti histamine tablets. Can this be symptoms of ars after 12 weeks. Please help.

Dear user. Thanks for the question. Hiv spread through contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and hiv-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the hiv-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the hiv-negative partner. Hiv can not spread through saliva. Take care.

Generally speaking: 4th generation -- conclusive after 4 weeks (some say at 6).
3rd generation -- conclusive after 8 weeks (some would say 6+ weeks)
2nd generation -- conclusive after 10 - 12 weeks. The tests that could be deemed conclusive are 3rd generation tests and certainly 4th generation tests at 8 weeks. A 3rd generation test for the most part has to be done by a lab. All fda approved rapid tests are either 2nd generation tests or perform like 2nd generation tests in actual practi...more
