Hypothyroidism while you are pregnant can have significant adverse health effects on the unborn baby, and so maternal hypothyroidism should be avoided.
If you are hypothyroid prior to pregnancy, the Guidelines recommend that your dosage be adjusted so that TSH is below 2.5 mIU/L prior to conception. This lowers the risk of the TSH elevating in the first trimester.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. In pregnancy it is essential to maintain TSH in the following manner: 1st trimester - 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd trimester - .0.2 to 3.0 mU/L, 3rd trimester - 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. You can be a single mother legally you wii™ not have any problems. It is allowed by the law. In fact you can carry the baby yourself rather than surrogate carrying your baby. Still you can meet a lawyer to understand more legal aspects if you want to.

Lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
From what you have written it is not clear whether there is hypothyroidism after delivery or now. If there is no such condition post delivery, then there is really nothing to worry. Just get your Thyroid function tests done once in six months or a year. But if you become pregnant again then it may reappear. Or at times it may precipitate later also. Thanks.

If money is not a problem than only go for cord blood banking of stem cells and contact your nearby retailer and you personally go and visit the premises to see how they store the samples and stem cells will only be required if your baby has some auto immune disease etc.
